Nestled under Seogangdaegyo Bridge is Bamseom Island, shaped like a chestnut. Famous as a sanctuary for migratory birds, it was designated an ecological conservation area in 1999 and a Ramsar Wetland in 2012. You cannot enter the island, but the view of Bamseom from the nearby parks offers a special experience of nature in the middle of the city.
